is inspired by the 23 Black parents and 54 children who challenged racial discrimination in the NAACP’s 1947 equalization case of Corbin v. County School Board of Pulaski County, Virginia. This project celebrates Black parenthood in Appalachian Virginia. One component of this project includes a quilt put together by the community.
Join us at any of these three workshops to learn about these brave Pulaski families and to co-design quilt blocks that tell their stories.
